One or more of the following events has occurred to virtually all presenters or they have been experienced as a member of an audience:

 

 

  • The presenter cannot get his presentation to show from the projector
  • The audio system is too soft, too loud or the presentation audio does not come through
  • The lights are too bright, too dim or complicated to switch from one setting to another
  • Changing devices between computer presentation, DVD, VCR, video conference or DSTV creates havoc with the entire system and requires in-depth technical knowledge to rectify the situation
  • The projector fails during a presentation
  • Presentations from different presenters cannot easily be accessed

    The problem is that non-technical users are expected to operate technically complex presentation venues. A simple business presentation just feels very risky simply because users have to depend on technology. The solution to this problem is to add a reliable control system to the presentation venue and provide the user with a simple, user friendly interface to the technology in the venue. However, the perception is that control systems such as these are prohibitively expensive and so most companies just struggle along.

     

    This is no longer true, because a carefully designed AMX Control System can be deployed very cost effectively while still addressing the stated problem very effectively. This is accomplished by KWYNI Technology Solutions with a focused design approach which utilises technology advances in the product line and is aimed specifically to address this very common problem in company’s presentation venues. The concept is not to provide extensive or discrete control of every aspect of the venue from the user-interfaces but rather to allow a user to walk in and intuitively push one or two buttons and get the projector and screen (and sound system if equipped) to do what they should do easily and reliably. This is achieved without needing to understand anything about the projector or the need to find the switch for the screen, the remote for the projector or the volume control.

    Business Benefits

    img Besides achieving the goal of making the operation of the presentation venue easy and reliable, a Kwyni system also provides many other business benefits. For example, it is installed with passive infra-red (PIR) motion sensors which are used to monitor movement in the room. If no activity is detected in the presentation venue for a pre-defined period of time (e.g. 1 hour), the control system will switch the projector off automatically to save on expensive projector lamp life. Never again will the projector mistakenly be left on for the whole weekend!

     

    In a similar manner, if your system has been installed with the lighting control option described below, the lights can be switched off automatically when occupancy is not detected for a pre-defined time and can also be switched on automatically when someone walks into the venue (if the lights were off). The behavior of the lights can be programmed to be different during office hours and outside normal office hours. Because your control system is connected to your Ethernet computer network, we can:

     

  • Send you an SMS or email if your projector is removed without authorization.

    •  

  • Send your technical department or facility manager (or your presentation venue service provider) an SMS or email if an exception occurs in your presentation venue. This is most useful if such an exception is detected and rectified before your meeting commences and not during your important meeting! Such an exception could for example, be the expiry of your projector’s lamp life.

    •  

  • Provide you with a help request mechanism. If a user needs assistance or attention of any nature in the boardroom, they just need to push the help button on the system and an SMS or email can immediately be sent to a support person.

    •  

  • If you have a wide area computer network (WAN) connecting all your offices together, the control system as described can form the basis for a full scheduling and remote monitoring system for all your presentation venues, nationally or globally.

    •  

  • The system is equipped with an internal Web Browser making it accessible remotely. If a support person receives a support request, the current state of your boardroom can be viewed on any networked computer and control of the presentation venue (with access passwords) can be managed from any computer on your network that is equipped with Internet Explorer.
